About Us

Zach Salter | Owner

Zach stepped foot in the small town YMCA weight room for the first time in 2004. That first step changed things forever and would become not just a hobby but a lifestyle. What he found in the weight room was confidence, creativity, innovation, and skills that served as a platform for future success. He learned that the principles applied to the mind and body in the gym, can be applied in all areas of life. Having the opportunity to live in several areas of the country over the last few years, allowed Zach to learn and train with some of the greatest athletes in the country. Zach describes his fitness journey as a gift, and personally takes the choice to protect it, and share it with like-minded people who strive for greatness in the same ways. With a vote of confidence from family and close friends, Zach chose to finally take his training to a new level as a competitor. In 2015, Zach competed in his first show, and since then has become nationally qualified as a Classic Physique Athlete.

"I did not miraculously wake up one day, looking the way I look and doing all that I am doing. It took a decade of sacrificing, to grow from a skinny kid walking into the gym for the first time. I found the desire to do more with myself, because it was the healthy thing to do. There are plenty of distractions throughout our life that will try and pull us away from the things that we want to do. The most important thing, is that we never lose sight of our own happiness, and what we perceive as greatness in our own mind. I encourage you all, wherever you are at in your journey, to never give up. If you give up, you are giving up on yourself. And giving up on yourself is a lot harder to live with than plenty of other things in this world. I thank you all for taking the time to visit us! Luminant Muscle is more than just a brand. It is a lifestyle choice. I hope that you know that you are not alone, and that we are here with you to follow your journey, whatever that may be!"

Renee Salter

Renee is from a small town in Michigan and growing up was always active playing tennis, cheerleading, dance and horse-back riding. The gym has always been a part of her daily routine to build a strong body and maintain an active lifestyle. Renee's job is high intensity in the day-to-day, never follows the same schedule, includes a great deal of computer work and requires a lot of traveling. The gym is the 60-90 minutes a day where all personal and professional responsibilities melt away and she can dedicate time to her health and well-being. This commitment extends outside the gym as well including yoga, stretching, regular chiropractic care and therapeutic massage to mitigate the long-term impact of computer work and traveling.

"You are the only person who is going to make time for yourself to support your health and well-being. No matter how busy the day gets, there is always time. It is only a question of if you are willing to make the commitment to yourself. Someone once told me to repeat "Me Today, You Tomorrow" and that has stayed with me. To be able to give others your best, you have to be at your best."

Meet Our Athletes

Matt Vinson "Vinny"

Vinny is currently the Army Recruiting Station Commander in Prescott, AZ. Born and raised in Southeast Iowa, he chose to defend our nation and join the Army as an Infantryman in 2003. Through his professional career, he has been on several overseas deployments and has been awarded more metals than would fit in your gym bag. Becoming a highly decorated professional, motivated Vinny to stay healthy, and strive for a high level of achievement, inside and outside of the gym. In August 2014, he was in a near fatal 4-wheeler accident, fracturing his skull, face, shoulder, ribs, knee, and ankle. Fifteen days in the hospital, gave Vinny time to physically and mentally prepare for a new objective. The goal was to step on stage and compete in the best shape of his life. Within 14 months of stepping out of the hospital, he competed in his first NPC competition in October 2015. He was hooked. Since then he has qualified for Nationals, which he will be competing as a Classic Physique athlete in Las Vegas, 2018.

"Along this journey, I've learned there is more to competing and living the lifestyle than meets the eye. It's about investment. It is about investing with the right people with the right message and inspiring possibilities. I currently continue to work on bridging the gap between my active duty Army life, to my personal life, including bodybuilding.  I will bridge the gap and continue to inspire possibilities to others along the way. In the end, it comes down to will-power, drive, purpose, direction, and motivation. You have to get up, get out there, and earn it, every single day!"

Sara O'Brien

Sara is a Certified Personal Trainer, and actively earning her degree as a Nutritionist. Sara has always had a passion for living a healthy lifestyle. Working out started as a way to reduce stress, and have an overall sense of well-being. Sara appreciates the challenge of pushing herself, always finding new and innovative ways to find new ways to compete with herself. Sara uses her passion for fitness to help encourage other women to do the same.  It was in the gym, where she met Vinny, stepping over him as he laid on the floor after a tough set of squats. Making jokes to him back and forth is when she realized they shared the same passion for the gym, and eventually, passion for life. The gym is where their journey began, and they continue to push each other every day to be a better form of one another.

"Ladies don't be afraid to pick up the weights & then pick up heavier weights."

"Find what drives you, find your passion, your love, and never let anyone take your smile from you."
